I'm trying to figure out how much Henry Moore sculpture has been installed publicly in the Pacific Northwest. Has anyone ever found a resource for this sort of thing? I've tried the Henry Moore Foundation--you'd think they would keep a list--but nada.

Leads appreciated!

This is, literally, four blocks from where I live, and five blocks from where I work.

Gotta open my eyes!!!

I told you they weren't in buildings.

You are making this too hard.

Another view of the Seattle work.

Here's something to think about:

When Henry Moore's mother developed a painful case of sciatica, her dutiful son took to rubbing her hip to ease the discomfort. Years later, Moore remarked that nearly all of his sculpture was fundamentally about his mother's hip.

This is not the Pacific Northwest, to be sure, but there are at least 15 of his outdoor sculptures on the grounds of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City.

Hmmm, I have started rubbing my wife's herniated discs in her neck every day to ease her pain. I never thought of it as a potential source of artistic inspiration. I will have to be open to the possibilities.

If you're ever in the area of Central New Jersey, check out Grounds for Sculpture - off 195, 295/95, Rt 1, Rt 33, etc. Great place with wonderful grounds and sculpture throughout the landscape.

Cool, I didn't know about this place. I thought they tore down the speedway and fairgrounds & replaced it with a mall! My Dad used to take me to the races there many years ago. I even saw Joe Perry open for ZZ Top once at the speedway.

My sister is going to be visiting here from Ca. next week, I'd rather check this out than go to NYC again.

Thanks!
