Is anyone able to identify a first edition of this album. Any identifying features would be appreciated.

White glossy paper pasted on a black Folkways-style heavy-stock sleeve, record goes in through the top of the pocket. Red label, deep groove (I believe).

I have a flipback with the orange/red cornet label, which is probably from the early '70s, but after the session was licensed to International Polydor.

VERY heavy-stock sleeve on the original Sonet vinyl I have. The deepgroove is about two centimeters away from the center. Back cover has liner notes in english by Erik Wiedemann. Uncredited cover photo shows only four of the musicians. J.C. Moses is out of the picture.

Thanks Brownie and to Ed Rhodes who emailed me. Sadly I never came across one of these.

The music remains great whatever the pressing imo.

Yeah, that's the more common variant. Spineless, indeed...

Never got too into those International Polydor variants either (diff. jackets), but what can you do?

Was there an earlier version of vol 2? I bought it in the '60s. Never saw a Polydor copy.
