chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 hi chewy-chew-chew checkin' in here: let me take a bite of the chew-stick and say that basia is very underrated now beacuse she only has like 2 or 3 cds and has a great voice but her albums could have been better with different drum programming and production. but her songs definetly could be covered in jazz a lot more than they have been, espically "time and tide" from here debut cd. her 2nd cd from like 1990 thereabouts is also really good, and somewhat of an improvement on the 1st as far as programming is concerned. i am very imparticular with that kind of stuff, i would of much perfered straight latin percussion or maybe the phil collins famous short-attack reverb noise gated drum effect or something Quote
Alexander Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 My dad was into her back in the late 80s/early 90s. I never thought too much of her, aside from finding the timbre of her voice to be generally pleasant. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 "the only Pole to break the Top 40"! What about Bobby Vinton? Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 If he broke it, who fixed it? Paul Anka. I think he fixed it with shirts. Quote
JSngry Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 Well, if you can't fix it with shirts, it ain't worth fixin'. Quote
Herb Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 I ain't afraid to admit that I enjoy Basia's stuff - besides, Peter White is on most of her recordings. Quote
