Big Al Posted August 25, 2006 Report Posted August 25, 2006 Are any of you able to listen to the LP you're recording through your computer while you're recording it to your hard drive? Mine won't let me listen while I'm recording, and I can't monitor the sound on the computer until after I'm done recording and have shut down the record player. Is there a way around this? Quote
rostasi Posted August 25, 2006 Report Posted August 25, 2006 Al, does your software that you're using for transfer have a "monitor" option? You may have to check the preferences. Rod Quote
Big Al Posted August 25, 2006 Author Report Posted August 25, 2006 Up, in hopes that Chuck and/or Skid sees this thread! Quote

Rod Yes it does. Maybe it's supposed to be like that, I dunno. It'd just be nice to be able to preview what I'm hearing while I'm recording it (i.e. check the sound levels, hear it as it's being recorded by the computer) Quote
Big Al Posted August 26, 2006 Author Report Posted August 26, 2006 Duhhhhh....... just found it. It's on the opening screen, box called "Simultaneous Playback." If it was a snake, it'a bit me. Quote
Uncle Skid Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 So is it working now, or what??? :rsmile: The "Auto Level" setting comes in pretty handy -- "the [recording level] volume control automatically lowers itself if the level is too high" when this is set. Quote
Big Al Posted March 27, 2007 Author Report Posted March 27, 2007 Alright, here's another question about a problem that is getting extremely frustrating: I copy the LP to my hard drive, fix it up, then save it to a CD. I'm listening to the CD and I'm hearing skips. Not skips from the vinyl; skips like a piece of data didn't import properly. I'm thinking I may just need to defrag my hard drive, but has anyone else had this happen? Some LPs I've had to re-do three times now! Quote

If you don't find a fix, I suggest playing the file before burning to check it out. Sounds like a pain but it will save discs and wasted burn time. I think your machine is paying you back for all the Dennis DeYoung crap you feed it. Quote
