Durium Posted January 3, 2007 Report Posted January 3, 2007 RON CARTER - HERBIE HANCOCK - TONY WILLIAMS Three giants united. In 1977, ten years after their cooperation with the Miles Davis Quintet the former rhythm section joined at the Automatt studios in San Francisco. They recorded a great album, on which Ron Carter could show that he is a great bass player:Third Plane Third Plane Keep swinging Durium Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted January 3, 2007 Report Posted January 3, 2007 Herbie Hancock Trio (1977) An excellent Japanese-only album by Herbie -- featuring all acoustic playing, recorded in 1977, with a trio that includes Ron Carter on bass and Tony Williams on drums. Despite the lack of electric keyboards, there's a bit of a light funky groove on some tracks -- with lots of warm bass sounds from Ron Carter, and some beautiful light work on the drum kit from Williams. Titles include "Watch It", "Speak Like A Child", and "Whatcha Waitin For". All tracks are long, and the record's got a nice sweet mellow vibe! CLICK Quote
