sidewinder Posted January 13, 2007 Report Posted January 13, 2007 Anyone else seen this one? Superb performance by Forrest Whittaker in the title role of Idi Amin. Remember seeing Amin on a TV chat show ( ) many years ago charming the pants off of the host and getting away with it (somewhat spookiliy he was on the show with his 3 wives I think). Forrest has done a GREAT job playing this monster. Recommended ! Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted January 13, 2007 Report Posted January 13, 2007 I read the book a few years ago and enjoyed it. Some good Funk by African artists in the sound track - though, as ever, it's not the RIGHT music for the location. Producers don't seem to realise that African doesn't mean anything in terms of music. Still, there IS good stuff in there. And the producers know that no one watching the film is going to know any better. MG Quote
Alexander Posted January 13, 2007 Report Posted January 13, 2007 I'm really looking forward to this! Forrest Whittaker is a fine actor and one with tremendous range. Here's a man who's acted in films as diverse as "Good Morning, Vietnam," "Ghost Dog," "Fast Times at Ridgemont High," and "Bird." How many actors can claim to have played Charlie Parker AND Idi Amin?! Quote
ejp626 Posted January 13, 2007 Report Posted January 13, 2007 Somewhat amazingly, I should be able to watch this on an international United flight next week, so I'll see if it is good. It certainly sounds promising. Quote
