Eric Posted August 29, 2003 Report Posted August 29, 2003 http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/Northeast/08/28...reut/index.html Sobering. Last week I had dinner with a guy who sat in an office building adjacent to the WTC and witnessed much of this first hand. We can never forget this. Eric Quote
Big Al Posted August 29, 2003 Report Posted August 29, 2003 I got this from the Port Authority's press release: Representatives of media organizations have assured us that they are interested in this material solely to evaluate emergency response on September 11, and to recount heroism. We take them at their word, and fully expect them to refrain from publishing gruesome, gratuitous or personal details that do nothing to further this discussion. We also hope and expect that the media will show appropriate respect for the families of the heroes of September 11, particularly as the second anniversary of that painful day approaches. Emphasis mine. I can only hope. Quote
Brad Posted August 29, 2003 Report Posted August 29, 2003 I don't think you can limit its use to that. It has historical significance. As a former would be historian, this is something that I'd want to examine if I'm writing a book about 9/11, terrorism, etc. It is a very valuable source, albeit painful for surviving family members especially.
