JSngry Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 Did a Google search for "Jimi Hendrix" "Sunshine Of Your Love" "flute" & found this: http://www.me.umn.edu/~kgeisler/G.html Greatest Hits PULSAR, Everest Record Group man. in the EEC c. 1990 Greatest hits?--pure nonsense as you will see: CD 1: All live versions 1. Purple haze (3:05) 2. Voodoo chile SR (7:17) 3 Fire (3:38) 4. Bleeding heart (5:23) 5. Room full of mirrors ("extended version") with someone playing the flute (8:08) 6. Lttle wing (3:07) 7. The sunshine of your love ((6:37)) 8. Room full of mirrors (2:54) 9) Bleeding heart "Extended version" ( 8:28) -very nice version- 10) Smashing of the amps ( 6:22) CD 2 : 1. Voices (5:11) 2. Let me go (2:39) 3. Gangster of Love (1:57) 4. Win your love (2:36) 5. Two + one goes (2:29) 6. Freedom and you (2:18) 7. Good Times (4:03) 8. Voice in the Wind (2:47) 9. She's so fine (2:26) 10. Soul food (3:28) CD 3 : 1. Blues Blues ( 5:52) 2. Night Life (5:55) 3. LIME LIME (3:21) 4 PSYCHO ( 2:30) 5. Go Go Shoes (2:43) 6. Bleeding heart (7:25) 7. Nobody Can Change Me (2:44) 8. Sweet thang -correct spelling- (2:24) 9. Bring my Baby back ((3:45) 10.Good feeling (4:00) The first disc is yet another recording of the Royal Albert Hall concert on Feb 24/69 -- "Smashing of the amps" is a dead giveaway! The flute player of Room Full of Mirrors was Chris Wood, from Traffic. The other discs contain old pre-Experience material, mostly Lonnie Youngblood stuff -- rehashed AGAIN!. This is simply a "3-in-1-release" of 3 albums previously released by the same Pulsar-label in 1989 and 1990: CD1 is PULS 003: "His Final Live Performance" (More or less identical to the "Experience"-soundtrack from RAH 24.02.69) CD2 is PULS 004: "Experiences" (LY-material / Mostly fake) CD3 is PULS 008: "Masterpieces" (LY-material & Scene Club-tracks) Quote
jazzbo Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 I think that Jim has identified it correctly, it's the Royal Albert Hall concert (which is finally going to be coming out officially, according to what I've heard) material on that tape. NOT his last concert by a long shot. Quote
J Larsen Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 (edited) Slightly OT - it's great that they are putting the RAH concert out officially, but when are they going to get around to re-releasing the Stages material? As I recall, when they pulled it OOP in the first place, they said it was just to improve the notes the sound. That was years ago. Edited April 22, 2007 by J Larsen Quote
jazzbo Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 Yes, but wasn't that also totally different management of the material? Was it the family that pulled it out of print? It's likely that some of these will come out soon. . . Atlanta probably as a DVD. Quote
J Larsen Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 Yes, but wasn't that also totally different management of the material? Was it the family that pulled it out of print? Yes, it was the family - again, this is going back a ways but I recall them saying that it would be back in print "soon" (this was the mid-90s) with expanded/corrected notes and improved sound, which is why I didn't pick it up at the time. I've regretted that ever since. Quote
jazzbo Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 Okay. . . I don't remember anything along those lines. I think at that time when they used "soon" they had no clear plan of what was to come. . . . I would wager that the shows without video will come out on Dagger. . . . Quote
chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez Posted April 22, 2007 Author Report Posted April 22, 2007 hell yeah its chris wood on flute?? Quote

BFrank Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 FWIW, Jimi's last live performance is available from Dagger Records. THE JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE: LIVE AT THE ISLE OF FEHMARN "Live At The Isle Of Fehmarn" features The Jimi Hendrix Experience’s final live performance on September 6, 1970 during the Love & Peace Festival held on the Isle Of Fehmarn in Germany. jostber Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 What do you think is his greatest recorded live performance? For me it is the Winterland sets: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Live-Winterland-Ji...7164&sr=8-1 Have enjoyed that one for years. The CD seems to be pretty unavailable now, should really get an reissue. This one might be the answer: http://www.hmv.co.jp/product/detail/2506023 Quote
