JSngry Posted July 24, 2007 Report Posted July 24, 2007 (edited) http://www.dustygroove.com/item.php?id=j6w...p%3Bincl_cs%3D1 Sony (Japan), 1971 -- Condition: New Copy One of the hippest albums ever recorded by bassist Gary Peacock -- one of his rare Japanese-only sessions, and a date that beautifully mixes his bass with acoustic and electric piano from Masabumi Kikuchi! The sound is often somewhat dark -- building up slowly from the bottom on long, contemplative lines from Peacock's bass -- as Kikuchi fills things in with some slightly sharp edges, but never too much so. The rest of the group features twin drums from Masahiko Togashi and Hiroshi Murakami -- although each player drops out for a number apiece. Titles are all originals by Gary -- and include "Hollows", "Bonsho", "Ishi", "Voice From The Past", "Requiem", and "Ae Ay". So? Edited July 27, 2007 by JSngry Quote
Guest donald petersen Posted July 24, 2007 Report Posted July 24, 2007 jangry i was wondering this as well...i have paysages which is pretty ok and i also had a peacock/kikuchi/murakaimi trio disc which dg sold a while ago and it was also decent...i dunno...i am curious...this is probably the same..paysages has two drummers also but i guess the main issue is watananbe's shrill tone...so i don't know but i would also appreciate feedback... clifford_thornton Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 The presence of Togashi, in addition to the great cover photo, are selling points indeed. Quote

clifford_thornton Posted July 27, 2007 Report Posted July 27, 2007 I looked up my usual sources for Japanese LPs and they don't have it... must be pretty rare, though I know I've seen it offered. Quote
