jazzhound Posted August 22, 2007 Report Posted August 22, 2007 some fellow emailed me in reference to a RED CLAY album i listed on ebay (why, or why) saying original press has green label , not tan. I don't think I have ever seen one like that. or any CTI lp with a green label. anyone expert on this ? Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted August 22, 2007 Report Posted August 22, 2007 Yeah - my copy of Fats Theus' "Black out" CTI 1005, has a green label. The early French RCA issues of CTI albums had a green label, too. My copy of Stanley Turrentine's "Sugar" is one of those. MG Quote

The earliest CTI's (maybe the first five or six) are green label, after which they changed to the more familiar tan/yellow label. I bought "Red Clay" as a new release - it has a green label. Quote
tjluke68 Posted August 23, 2007 Report Posted August 23, 2007 (edited) I think I have a Deodato/Airto - In Concert LP with a green label - it's Quadrophonic. Maybe not - gotta go home and look at it... Edited August 23, 2007 by tjluke68 Quote

Daniel A Posted August 28, 2007 Report Posted August 28, 2007 The early French RCA issues of CTI albums had a green label, too. My copy of Stanley Turrentine's "Sugar" is one of those. Also German issues of some titles (by Metronome) seem to have been green. Quote
