porcy62 Posted September 30, 2007 Report Posted September 30, 2007 (edited) I just listened "Action" on a BN, NY pressing mono, and I had the bad idea to compare it to the Mosaic. I found the latest pretty dull and boring, in one word "disppointing". No clue on the booklet. On the dead wax there is "mastered by capitol" and "wally?". Edited September 30, 2007 by porcy62 Quote
sidewinder Posted September 30, 2007 Report Posted September 30, 2007 'Wally' would be Wally Traugot, who did many of those early Conn vinyls. Quote

J.A.W. Posted September 30, 2007 Report Posted September 30, 2007 His name is Wally Traugott, mastering and lacquer-cutting engineer for Capitol Records' Capitol Mastering subsidiary. "Wally" is always credited in the runout grooves of the record, with MASTERED BY CAPITOL stamped in, and the "Wally" signature etched alongside. His LP masterings are highly regarded. Quote
