Up again with this 'Vintage' thread. Enjoyed listening to Ray Russell's 'Secret Asylum' on Reel CD over the past few days. The original LP would no doubt have totally bombed in the shops.

Here's drummer Alan Rushton as part of the 'cast' on 70s BBC kiddies TV show 'Play Away', for anyone who remembers that one. Is that also Spike Heatley on bass?

Funny, there are actually two pressings of the Secret Asylum LP, one gatefold and one without.

That band was also part of the Running Man project with organist/pianist/vocalist Alan Greed, which grew out of the Rock Workshop (still need that LP). Apparently some Running Man material was recorded with Mongezi Feza and Dudu Pukwana, which I'd be curious to hear.

The Gatefold must be the UK pressing and the non-Gatefold the German/European one. Never seen either of them in person ! I remember hearing about that 'Rock Workshop' - if I remember correctly vocalist Alex Harvey of The Sensational Alex Harvey Band was involved.
