I remember watching the seventh game of the 1960 World Series, but I was too young to appreciate how special it was. What I remember most about that game is not Mazeroski's home run, but Kubek getting hit in the throat by the ball when it took a bad hop. It's very possible that tonight's game was the best I have ever seen or heard (of any sport). The Lions jumped out to a 15-0 lead. From then on, the Als would score, then the Lions would stretch the lead, then the Als would close the gap again. That went on the whole game. With ten seconds to go, Als rookie QB (and third string) Tanner Marsh threw a 57-yard bomb to Eric Deslauriers, who caught the ball though covered well. One was a 1983 USFL playoff game between the Philadelphia Stars and the Chicago Blitz. That was the best game I have ever attended. The other was a game on ESPN about 1988 - an Australian rules football game between the Hawthorn Hawks and somebody, maybe North Melbourne. I remember Gary Buckanara kicking the winning goal as time expired. He needed toe surgery to scrape out the infection. It was Tynes' right foot. Is that his kicking foot? After one the Stamps led 17-0, and after three it was 30-7. This was one of the most boring games that I have listened to in a very long time. So I stepped outside to chat with some friends, and returned with a minute to go in the game. The Stamps led 37-34, and the Eskimos had the ball and were marching down the field!
