Peter Johnson Posted September 19, 2003 Posted September 19, 2003 Some of you might be looking for this--I know it took me a long time to track it down! Check out this page. No affiliation, disclaimers apply, blah blah blah. Quote
riverrat Posted September 20, 2003 Posted September 20, 2003 This is a very enjoyable session, BTW. I may be in the minority, but I like it more than the apparently more highly sought after "Another Workout", which didn't do a whole lot for me. Quote
Alec Posted September 22, 2003 Posted September 22, 2003 Peter-- Thanks for the heads up! I grabbed it Quote
catesta Posted September 22, 2003 Posted September 22, 2003 So you're the one. DAMN YOUR EYES!!! Quote
jacknife Posted September 22, 2003 Posted September 22, 2003 I had been watching that one for a while just never pulled the trigger. Is $18 a good price for this session? My wish list at half is a mile long but I just have trouble paying the $18-20 for a lot of these OOPs. Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted September 22, 2003 Posted September 22, 2003 You'll probably get a range of opinions about "Far Away Lands". I think it's a pretty good album, but not really quite in that "incredible" range. One of those things that's well worth picking up if you see if for anything less than $12, or perhaps even $14. Whether it's worth $18, however, really depends on how much you're into the specific sidemen on the album, and into other similar Hank LP's from the same general timeframe. If it's any help, I like both "Slice of the Top" and "Third Season" better than "Far Away Lands". I guess I'd probably give "Slice..." about 4 stars, and "Third Season" about 4.5 stars, and "Far Away..." only 3.5 stars (and I would understand if others only gave it 3 stars). Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted September 22, 2003 Posted September 22, 2003 I think I paid $14-15 for this cd. So that's what I would pay. Quote
jacknife Posted September 22, 2003 Posted September 22, 2003 well worth picking up if you see if for anything less than $12 Kind of the way I'm looking at this one. After all, I do need to impose some budget consraints once in a while! Quote
