Okay, the 4 orders I had for the Freddie Slack and Johnny Richards have all been canceled. Perhaps someone wants to get rid of theirs? Anyone?

Damn! My order for the Freddie Slack and Johnny Richards was just canceled at J&R I have a lead on the Richards, but none on the Slack. Somebody needs to cut me some slack!!

Ouch!! I've been concentrating on getting the big boxes, figuring I'd have plenty of time for the selects I wanted I just ordered the Slack and the Richards Selects from J&R Music for $52.99 each. I hope they ship! I'm not sure about the Pullen, from what I've heard it's not at the top of my list. I have the Art Pepper on the individual releases--Is the sound that much better on the select? I'd much rather be giving my money to Mosaic. In my world, they are the company too big to fail!

Amazon.ca lists this as a 1 cd "Best of Songbooks" with a release date of June 16th. I wish it were the whole set!

I went with Ellington and Braxton. They don't 'speak' to me, or, more than likely, my ears don't open for them. I appreciate their talent and understand their importance, but I like what I like. I've learned long ago not to judge others on what they like or don't like, and I'm thankful for others who do the same. I like the variety and am glad others have different likes and dislikes than mine.

Speaking of the Reprise cds, although I have the studio box, I lost the Sinatra/Basie at the Sands cd. As a lark I checked my local store a couple of weeks ago and there it was, brand new! (of course I snatched it up) I checked this weekend to see if they had the Sinatra/Jobim, but no luck. For me, it is one of best Sinatra albums and brings back many happy memories of listening to it with my father and uncle late at night.

My local Newburys has a bunch of the K2s @ $5.99. Are they worth the upgrade? Which ones would you say are the best? Thanks

FWIW, it still shows up in my wish list (as Out of Stock). I wrote to them today asking about it. If I don't get a satisfactory answer, I think it will be time to pool resources and get 2-5 people together to put in an order from Amazon.fr (actually FNAC has it but shipping was even worse if I recall). I know I could have gotten more money via ebay, but this place has been good to me. (I don't post much but I read a lot and have learned a lot here) In the long run, it is the sharing of this great music that is most important.

Okay, even though I've bought and sent out a bunch of these to board members at the ridiculously low price of $19.99, I walked into my local Newbury Comics and saw two of these boxes, brand spanking new, still shrink wrapped, marked down to $9.99. That's right-- $9.99 for the entire set. Now, I could try to make a profit on eBay, but that doesn't seem to be in the spirit of the season. So, if you want it for that price, either check your local store or PM me and I'll pick them up and send them off to you for $9.99 plus shipping. (They are listed as $19.99 on the Newbury website.) ***UPDATE*** The two copies are spoken for and I have two on a waiting list. If they get in anymore I'll post again.
