mikeweil Posted August 28, 2008 Author Report Posted August 28, 2008 It did drive me mad - couldn't figure it out. A pro friend couldn't either, and recommended re-installing XP. I went to the shop yesterday, and after checking the hardware for defects, they went on to do just this. Turned out some software had killed the network drivers during some de-installation process. Everythings back to normal. Now I have to start all over, downloading all kinds of software, reinstalling my personal files (which were all safe) - takes some time, but I'm back here again. Quote
king ubu Posted August 29, 2008 Report Posted August 29, 2008 yup, welcome back here! sounds like quite some work (for just that reason I save all the installation files of all those downloaded programmes in one folder that I back up now and then - makes it easy to reinstall them, but of course you need to reconfigure everything again...)
