Renowned jazz musician Bheki Mseleku has died at the age of 53 after a long battle with diabetes, Arts and Culture Minister Pallo Jordan said on Wednesday.

the first jazz radio show i ever heard featured mseleku... i was very impressed, heard that station for years but it rarely got that good again, but never explored mseleku any further... any recommendations?

I think of it as Abdullah Ibrahim meets 1970s McCoy Tyner, done in a unique personal style.
