Teasing the Korean Posted September 21, 2008 Report Posted September 21, 2008 I have it on vinyl. Most of it is moody 1950s oddball jazz. The two songs with cow and dish in the titles have sped-up chipmunk voices and are like Ken Nordine-esqe nightmares. I think it has been reissued on CD, and I think you'd like it. Quote
jlhoots Posted September 21, 2008 Report Posted September 21, 2008 Better than you'd think, not as good as it might have been. Quote
JSngry Posted September 21, 2008 Report Posted September 21, 2008 Some of the tunes remind me of Carla Bley's earlier work. It's funny, the personnel was not released with the CD, you had to go to a website to get it, but Elvin was immediately identifiable, as were Sweets, Taylor, Burrell, & Toots. For me, the whole thing falls into a category of Things That Are More Serious Than They Appear, Intentionally Or Not. Quote
captainwrong Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 Better than you'd think, not as good as it might have been. Pretty much. The songs are way too short for anything to really get happening so all you're left with is potential. Quote
