BeBop Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 Needless to say, I don't spend much time in the threads with pretty pictures - album covers and such. Am I the last in the Dark Ages? Quote
Guest Bill Barton Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 (edited) I have a fast connection but a slow PC (Pentium II). Kind of like driving a Model T Ford on the autobahn. So, no, you're not the last one in the Dark Ages. Edited November 11, 2008 by Bill Barton Quote
BeBop Posted November 11, 2008 Author Report Posted November 11, 2008 I'm not sure Rahsaan would have dug the sound of my acounstic coupler modem trying to connect...! Quote
Guest Bill Barton Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 I'm not sure Rahsaan would have dug the sound of my acounstic coupler modem trying to connect...! Not as mellifluous as a bus engine or a train whistle? Quote
papsrus Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 I use DSL, but every once in a while it drops out for some reason for about an hour or so, and I have to piggyback on some nearby wireless network connection that is a bit slow (or has a weak signal, more accurately). Not to encourage broadband theft or anything, but you could see if your computer can pick up a nearby wireless connection just for grins. Quote
Jazzmoose Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 Am I the last in the Dark Ages? Art though in need of an alchemist, sir? No, you're not alone. Until I move into the "big city" of La Grande sometime in the spring, it's dial-up for me. No Youtube links, no pictures, no music links. Having dial up bothered me before, because I knew I was missing something. Going back to it really sucks, as I know what I'm missing! Quote
clifford_thornton Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 I really hoped the title of this thread was "Anyone else living with a slow loris?" Quote
