Bright Moments Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 o.k who can tell me about this? Quote
Adam Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 (edited) I can tell you lots about it. it shouldn't really be on You Tube; it isn't PD. It's a really entertaining experimental early "American Independent" film, featuring most of the leading "beat" figures, as is obvious. It is what it is. "Frank Robert" is incorrect. It was made by the photographer Robert Frank and Alfred Leslie, with text/narration by Jack Keroac as you can hear. Alfred Leslie & Robert Frank are both still alive, making films or photos and more. What else? Edited January 16, 2009 by Adam Quote
king ubu Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 Keroac is incorrect as well Very enjoyable film! Had a chance once to see it on the big screen. Some other of the notorious beat generation characters are in the film, as well as Dave Amram (who did some work as a jazz french horn player). Quote
Niko Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 saw some of leslie's paintings in a book on the eat generations and found them really good... he has a web page, too http://www.alfredleslie.com/ Quote

medjuck Posted January 17, 2009 Report Posted January 17, 2009 There's a more recent cd by Amram with that title. It's from a concert where he included "Pull My Daisy" as a vocal. One of the women in the film is the late Delphine Seyrig who went on to star in Last Year at Mariendbad and India Song. She appears here under another name. Quote
Adam Posted January 17, 2009 Report Posted January 17, 2009 There is a cd: Oh, cool. Didn't know. Quote
