Christiern Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 (edited) According to Bill Kirschner (elsewhere), he passed away peacefully in his sleep. I found this photo online... July 17, 1943 party in the lasies dressing room for Clark Monroe at Murrain's (Harlem) 7th Avenue, corner of West 132nd Street New York City. Duke Jordan, left side, Leonard Gaskin, (above Clark), Max Roach, (next of Leonard Gaskin) Clark Monroe (Center), and Helen Monroe (in front of Clark). Edited January 26, 2009 by Christiern Quote
Harold_Z Posted January 27, 2009 Report Posted January 27, 2009 Sad news Chris. I saw Leonard play many times when he was the house bassist at Condon's. Great player. Quote
