Bright Moments Posted April 12, 2009 Report Posted April 12, 2009 Nicky Scopelitis that is! I just bought "Ekstasis" on the fly at my favorite used cd store because it had jah wobble and amina claudine myers. WOW!!! I really enjoyed it!!! a little research turns up that nicky has played with a lot of the "big boys and girls" - so now i have a new artist to check out! any recomendations? Quote
7/4 Posted April 12, 2009 Report Posted April 12, 2009 That's a great album! I guess this is also the album with Jaki Leibezeit from Can. As far as I know, Skopelitis is mostly on albums by bassist/producer Bill Laswell. I'm kinda out of touch on this stuff, but I have a ton of Laswell related releases I haven't listened to in ages. wiki db Quote
BFrank Posted April 12, 2009 Report Posted April 12, 2009 Ohhhhhh, I thought you meant Nicky Hopkins. Quote
7/4 Posted April 12, 2009 Report Posted April 12, 2009 One thing to keep in mind is how Laswell released a bunch of albums that sort sound like Ekstasis, even if they don't have Skopelitis on 'em. db Quote
clifford_thornton Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 Can't add much other than that I enjoy Toy Killers - the Charles Noyes/Material/DNA collision and Skopelitis is on that. Quote
kh1958 Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 His duet recording with Sonny Sharrock is also recommended. Quote
