Niko Posted June 28, 2009 Report Posted June 28, 2009 just a guess with nothing much behind: tal farlow? Quote
Jim R Posted June 28, 2009 Report Posted June 28, 2009 This is a tough one. It's not Tal... definitely a lesser-known player. I'm pretty sure I've seen photos (or youtube clips) that included this player, but it's tough to pin him down. My best guess right now is Perry Lopez. Here's a page with a photo of Lopez from roughly the same era: http://books.google.com/books?id=X9fxFuF7Q...t&resnum=21 Quote

Hardbopjazz Posted June 28, 2009 Author Report Posted June 28, 2009 (edited) This is from a recent discovery that the Mulligan estate have given to the Library of Congress. I can figure out everyone other than the guitar player. The date if it helps is October 5, 1958, the first Monterey Jazz Festival. Edited June 29, 2009 by Hardbopjazz Quote
Hardbopjazz Posted June 28, 2009 Author Report Posted June 28, 2009 Les Spann. It might just be him. Thanks Chuck. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted June 28, 2009 Report Posted June 28, 2009 Spann was in Diz's group at the time. Quote
