ok ok i dont think ive seen any of these playstlylite or (sic) or etc lps, besides BN, prestige too right? but what about other non bluenote lps, hugo winterhalder or whatever the...// u get what im saying

Other labels include Vox, United Artists and ESP. My early copy of Ayler's Spiritual Unity had a deep groove on one side, making the info on the earlier posted site wrong.

i wonder then if curtis fuller- slidin' easy (isnt that UA/'59) i wonder if that has it like the bluenotes

Chill, Aric, lol. Most LPs sound great.

I've got a few of the 70s Blue Notes with the dark blue label, and a few 70s Impulses with the green label, and they play fine. In the case of previously unissued material (e.g. some of the 1961 Trane Village Vanguard tracks, and a lot of Blue Note twofers), those issues were the only ones you could get, and we never gave it a thought at the time.

Numbered issue?

Don't know what you mean by "numbered issue". It was an lp bought in Iowa City in 1964/5. The UA issues I mentioned were all in the UAJ series, with the black/white covers.

Oh, I was referring to the hand-numbered issue of Spiritual Unity, with a brown cover and black silkscreen. I don't know how many of that edition made it out of NY.
