Too bad the strike didn't happen. Imagine NYC would have had its own mini-stimulus package with all the extra cash people could have spent on other things while not having to tip doormen, porters and concierges.

Point well taken, Chris, but in my building, the doormen, porters, etc. tip us. In turn, we speak very highly of them at every opportunity, and some of us remember them in our wills. Of course, at Christmas time, we do suggest that they not tip us quite as well.

To think that I have wasted hours studying the How to Hail a Cab manual. C'est la vie.

Now it's time to move on to your next project -- cataloging that jumble of old 60's/70's/80s remotes in a box you once mentioned.
