Sheryl Bailey - A New Promise

I've just heard a new album that I can recommend called A New Promise by guitarist Sheryl Bailey.

Bailey is from Pittsburgh, and that's where this was recorded in concert. The album is her backed by the Three Rivers Jazz Orchestra. It is a tribute to Emily Remler, and includes three Remler songs. Her tone reminds me of later Jim Hall.

I've never heard of her before, but this is her sixth cd. She is a professor at Berklee and the author of two instruction books.

I listened to this one today for the first time in quite a while, and I enjoyed it much more than ever.

I see that it is now up on Spotify.
