jeffcrom Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Would someone who has the Mo' Greens Please album mind posting the timings of two tracks: "I Know" and "Googa Mooga?" I have the Blue Note 45 release of these - 2:55 and 3:00, respectively. I have half a dozen BN 45s, and this is the only one that I suspect was edited down for single release. Some of my other BN 45s are five or six minutes per side. Just wanted to know. Thanks. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 My cdr (recorded from my lp, I believe) lists the times as 3:21 and 3:31. Quote
jeffcrom Posted September 14, 2010 Author Report Posted September 14, 2010 Thanks, Chuck. Hmmph - those would have fit on a 45 nicely. Wish they hadn't faded them early. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Shorter tunes bring more jukebox nickles. Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 Derailment coming! "Googa mooga", though credited to Roach, was actually written by Lou Bennett and recorded for Dawn in the fifties, before he went to France. MG Quote
romualdo Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 While we are on the topic,I was was wondering if there are any opinions out there re a Mosaic Select of his Blue Note work(may be too many LP's for a 3CD set but I thought there were 5?) . I contacted Michael Cuscuna a few years back & his reply was that it would not sell in enough quantity to make it a viable project. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 I agree with MC. Sad fact these days. Quote
