AllenLowe Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 (edited) beautiful story, especially about the guy who fell down and started to cry.... makes me think about a conversation I had with Al Haig in the '70s - Al thought, first of all, that no one really understood Bird, and that, at the root of his being, he wanted most to just be a family man, but he couldn't make it. Schildkraut told me of conversations he had with Bird in which Parker was envious of Dave's whole family setup, implying that he just wanted to settle down. Never happened, if course, because of too many habits. fascinating stuff. Wish I had that apartment. Edited November 24, 2010 by AllenLowe Quote
flat5 Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 Yes, thanks. I get the international edition in my email but this was not included. Quote
AndrewHill Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 Must be something to live in the same house that Bird did. What a rush. Quote
papsrus Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 Nice story. Sounds like a fascinating woman, too. Thanks for posting it. Quote
paul secor Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 Thanks for posting the story, brownie. Seems as if a person who's right for that house is living there. Quote
