Noj
Hehehe, if you click on the image of Chuck at his computer, you can zoom in and almost read the titles in his cd library. Cool interview Chuck!
Chuck Nessa
Hehehe, if you click on the image of Chuck at his computer, you can zoom in and almost read the titles in his cd library. Cool interview Chuck! Top left (above Hugo's head are Art Pepper cds, next section over on the second shelf the Art Tatum titles morph in a bunch of Cecil Taylors. Next section on top, the Verve Lester Young box and all the OJC's below are the Prestige anthologies and jam sessions. The letter A starts around the corner - Ayler, Braxton, Brown, Brubeck and Ray Charles boxes can be spotted on the top. :blush2: I don't think this stuff is on Mapquest. Larry Kart
Remember the Konitz track "Hugo's Head" from the album "Spirits" (Milestone), on the changes of "You Go To My Head"?

Jim Alfredson
Hehehe, if you click on the image of Chuck at his computer, you can zoom in and almost read the titles in his cd library. Cool interview Chuck! And if you zoom in far enough, you can slice out the waveforms on his computer, put them into your computer and when you play them backwards you hear Chuck saying "All hail Kenny G." Uncle Skid
Up. The full video is available for download. The Kenny G reminiscences have been edited out, but what's left is still interesting!
papsrus
Up. The full video is available for download. The Kenny G reminiscences have been edited out, but what's left is still interesting! Nice interview. I found it fascinating when Chuck talked about all the hours and precision work he put in inserting silence, of all things, into recordings in order to eliminate the ghosting effect of tapes. No small amount of irony there, but also a nice little peek into the nuts and bolts of things.
