bertrand Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 (edited) Does anyone know of any Wayne Shorter gigs in France in July or August? There's nothing at imnworld.com and my other source of info did not pan out. Thanks, Bertrand. Edited March 16, 2011 by bertrand Quote
brownie Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 Wayne Shorter will be playing with Herbie Hancock and Marcus Miller in a Tribute to Miles program. Dates I have seen include: July 9, Perugia, Italy July 15, Juan les Pins, France July 16, Vitoria, Spain July 18, Olympia, Paris They also play at the Vienne, France, festival in July (date to be announced later). bertrand Posted March 16, 2011 Author Report Posted March 16, 2011 Sure glad I asked here! I knew nothing about this. 7/18 may be a bit early for me because of this damn work thing - I will investigate. Did you find this on the web somewhere? Bertrand. Quote
brownie Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 Did you find this on the web somewhere? Bertrand. Mais oui... on google.fr Quote
bertrand Posted March 22, 2011 Author Report Posted March 22, 2011 Tickets prices for the Olympia are ridiculously high. Bertrand. Quote
brownie Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 The Olympia tickets are VERY expensive... wonder what was the musicians price agreement for this concert! Quote
Daniel A Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 To put the prices in perspective: Jerry Seinfeld is appearing here in Stockholm in a 15.000 seat arena this spring, and the tickets are more than twice the price of Shorter at Olympia. Quote
bertrand Posted March 23, 2011 Author Report Posted March 23, 2011 I'll definitely still go if I am in France at that time, but it is steep. Wayne is definitely worth it, at least to me. Bertrand. Quote
brownie Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 Bertrand, you'll be happy to know that it's Eric Legnini who opens for Shorter/Hancock/Miller at the Olympia! Quote
bertrand Posted March 31, 2011 Author Report Posted March 31, 2011 That is very odd, becasue I was just told on Monday that an 'all-star' Miles alumni band would be opening for them on this tour. I find it hard to believe that they would fly all these people over and not use them on every gig. I will post again if I find out more. Bertrand. Quote
