medjuck Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 It's the quartet with Alice and Ali. Of course they play My Favorite Things but also Meditations, . (As usual there are mistakes in the notes. This guy thinks Julie Andrews introduced My Favorite Things.) Quote
Caravan Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 Bought this last year on cd (FreeFactory 063; "Made in EU", but doesn't say where; released 2009). Of course, it's not a quartet but a quintet (with P. Sanders). The cd has: My Favorite Things (21:56), Welcome (11:02), Leo (23:05). Favorite Things has been edited because the opening theme was missing (the closing theme is used instead). Quote
Michael Weiss Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 No slight against Pharoah but after listening to this it made me wonder what if John Gilmore joined Trane instead. Quote
djcavanagh Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 The Wolfgang's Vault version of MFT is only 3 minutes long. Quote
John L Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 The Wolfgang's Vault version of MFT is only 3 minutes long. That's a relief! I was scared that there might be another 40-minute version to sit through. Quote

The Free Factory version sounds like an audience tape with abysmal quality (according to reviews on Amazon - I havn't actually heard this recording) whereas the WV's version is much better quality (VOA recording?)
