Leeway Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 I'm ambivalent about these awards. Yes, it is nice to give these artists acclaim. OTOH,the awards make jazz something of a museum piece. Jazz is now part of the establishment. Once an art is given official sanction, one can be pretty sure that it is not longer vital. Quote
