bertrand Posted September 3, 2011 Report Posted September 3, 2011 I don't believe I have seen his name on a recording since the Blue Note and Concord RVG series were discontinued. Did he quietly retire? According to wikipedia, he will be 87 in November! If he has decided to take a well-deserved rest, all I can say is 'thank you, Rudy' for everything you have done. Truly a key figure in the history of jazz. Bertrand. Quote
Hardbopjazz Posted September 3, 2011 Report Posted September 3, 2011 Yes, at 87 he does deserve to have some time to do other stuff. But I don't think Rudy would say it was work engineering all those sessions. "Make you vocation you vacation, and you'll never work a day in you life." Quote

bertrand Posted September 3, 2011 Author Report Posted September 3, 2011 I was hoping he was still involved in new releases. I guess he will just keep going and going. How is the Pelt CD? I was thinking of that one. Bertrand. Quote
sonnymax Posted September 4, 2011 Report Posted September 4, 2011 How is the Pelt CD? I was thinking of that one. Bertrand. It's very enjoyable and certainly worth a listen. The Alexander disc is, as you would expect, another Alexander disc. Quote
