You didn't mention the 70 tortoises or 20 neon-colored frogs

Apparently they were being smuggled in by some Chinese hotel guests ( i.e smugglers). Probably intended for the illegal pet trade (I bet many would end up in U.S), although they might have ended up in some restaurant kitchens too.
