Dan Gould Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 Just wanted to say that. He was 87 years young in this clip: Wish I could find "My Answer" on youtube, tremendous song. Quote
Hardbopjazz Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 Wow, I didn't know he was still living, or is this an old clip? Quote
J.A.W. Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 (edited) Wow, I didn't know he was still living, or is this an old clip? He was born on August 13, 1921 and is still with us at age 90. Ace (U.K.) released 2 excellent CDs with his late 1940s/early 1950s Modern recordings: Amazon, Amazon U.K. Edited March 23, 2012 by J.A.W. Quote
Harold_Z Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 "Think". I bought the 45 of that tune sometime in the early 60s. A little quicker tempo and a great tenor solo by Maxwell Davis. When it was reissued on cd I realized how much better I liked the 45 mono mix than the the stereo mix on the cd. Quote
johnlitweiler Posted March 24, 2012 Report Posted March 24, 2012 It's good to know he's still performing. Thanks, Dan. Quote
