I guess they heard my whining because there's a ton of previously unlisted stuff there. :smirk:

1. How good is the Bley?

2. Which of the Braxtons do I need?

3. Same for the Steve Lacy-which do I need? Only have some of Lacy's 50s/early 60s work.

4. How good is the Roach/Shepp?

1. The Bley is great

2. Performance 1979, Charlie Parker, Koln

3. The Way, Songs

4. Way good

Gotta put in a good word for the McPhee/Plimley/Ellis, Cecil Taylor, Murray, Carter-Bradford, Nagl/Big 4, and of course The Dark Tree.

I also like the Graewe, Konrad, Wallin and Oliveros titles.

Thanks for the tips - I already have that Shepp and the Nagl, as well as a few others. The Tapscott, Murray, Roach/Braxton, and Taylor are in my cart. Trying to winnow down the rest.

Does anyone here have an opinion of John Law's Abacus, with Jon Lloyd, Tim Wells and Gerry Hemingway? The samples sound interesting.

I have this one and think it's very good to excellent - a pleasant surprise as I'd never heard of Law or Lloyd before picking it up. More "inside" and modal than what I usually associate with Hat.

They renewed the sale, now expiring Sept. 20.

Not exactly the same titles (I didn't notice Braxton's Charlie Parker Project this go-round), but a lot of overlap afaict.
