I keep getting Carl Davis mixed up with Roquel 'Billy' Davis, who was Berry Gordy's original partner (co-writer of 'Lonely teardrops' etc), but who left to go to Chess.

Shame there wasn't a photo of him.

He also produced Young-Holt Unlimited for Brunswick (Carl, that is).
