The Magnificent Goldberg Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 We have three ice cream vans coming around our way during the summer. They play 'I'm forever blowing bubbles' - which surely no kid will recognise? 'Somewhere my love' - this one's even here in the winter. I was listening to Sonny Criss' 'The beat goes on' just now and his version of that tune inspired this. MOST eccentrically - 'The theme from the Third Man'. Wow! What a strange thing to have the theme from a classic film noir to sell ice cream!!! So, what do they play in your neck of the woods? Anything weird? MG Quote
cih Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 'I'm forever blowing bubbles' - which surely no kid will recognise? Unless they live in East London Quote
JSngry Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 Not my video, or neighborhood, but sure could be. Quote
BillF Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 I could say they play "Flying Home", but then that would just be wishful thinking. Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 I wish they'd do requests. I'd go for a certain John Cage piece. 'Greesleeves' (a scherzo version) and 'Just One Cornetto'. Quote
sonnymax Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 Michael Jackson tunes. Very creepy. Quote
Free For All Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 What a coincidence, "Ice Cream VanJingles" is my blues name. Quote
