Jim Alfredson Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 I just saw this on FB. It appears saxophonist Wes "Warmdaddy" Anderson suffered a stroke and is in the hospital. He's best known as a former member of the Wynton Marsalis septet, but I know him from his teaching position at Michigan State University and have had the pleasure of joining him on the bandstand. He's a beautiful, kind, and gracious person and my thoughts are with him and his family. His management posted the following on FB earlier: On behalf of Wess, Desi & Quad we'd like to thank you for all for the outpouring of well wishes and kind words. While Wess is back in ICU his recovery is optimistic and we ask for your continued prayers. In the interim cards, maybe sent to: Wessell Anderson; c/o Lisa Harrison; 4019 Lassen Drive; Baton Rouge, LA 70814. Although I know many of you have called, left voicemail, sent emails, and text messages -- Desi & Quad have received them all, and have been returning them as quickly as possible while attending to Wess, so if she hasn't gotten back to you she thanks you for your understanding. We'll keep you posted here and on our company page. Thank you all for the love and support. - Jerald Miller Quote
