Soulstation1
i just got a 2000 honda civic with a jensen stereo before christmas. when i turn on the stereo, the volume goes straight to level 46, no shit, every damn time. even when the mute is on, it's still TOOOOO loud. i found out this is a problem with all jensen car stereos. i called them up to see if i could get a new volume control switch. no dice, but i can buy a new face plate for $70-75. i think i'll just buy a $100 stereo, if i buy the jensen face plate i'll probably have the same problem later down the road. jensen sucks and this is the first time i've ever had an installed cd player in the my car. ss1

Jim Alfredson
Bummer. I have a Pioneer that's getting close to 8 years old and it still plays CDs just fine.
Noj
My Alpine is an older unit, from like 99--for some reason it doesn't read cdrs well. I wonder if newer units are more cdr-friendly. Ironically, burning cdrs for the car was my major motivation for buying a burner.

My Alpine is from 2002 (Model# CDA-7892) and has no problems with CD-R's.

Jazzmoose
someone will ALWAYS steal your shiznet It would drive me nuts. Of course, I don't even have a car right now, so... My wife's car has the factory supplied stereo, which sounds pretty much the way you imagine it does. Oh, well; they're better than they were 20 years ago, anyway...
