The Magnificent Goldberg
I think Dawkins has been my favourite Chicago bluesman since I first heard him. Unlike most, he has a strong tendency to solo on the guitar's bottom E string; it's very dramatic. And his spelling gives Chewy a run for his money RIP Jimmy, and thanks. kh1958
He's a favorite of mine, but I never got to hear him live. Favored recordings are these five: Blisterstring; Fast Fingers; Me, My Gitar and the Blues; Tribute to Orange; and West Side Guitar Hero. For awhile, he had Otis Rush on second guitar. Dan Gould
Sad news, he was unjustly neglected IMHO. Will definitely spin his Delmarks soon.
