the john batchelor show radio archives for last week have some wonderful podcasts concerning that time and that place by some very thoughtful researcher/authors. may i suggest checking his podcast archive for some long thoughtful discussions, sound archives, and chilling word pictures?

the downloads are quick and can be carried with you for when you have the time............

This stuff has always held a strong fascination for me...

When I was a teenager, I spent hours looking at a collection of Life magazines from those days.

This led to a career in photojournalism during which I was privileged to spend time on the D-Day beaches at several commemorations of those landings.

Standing at the Colleville cemetery above Omaha Beach among those thousands of graves of so many brave men has always been a very high point in my life.
