jazzbo Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 (edited) I was just thinking that there are a few albums that it would be fun to have redone by some of today's cats. Maybe they were just a little ahead of their time and not fully realized. Or maybe they would just be nice to have in a modern version for comparison or for timeliness reasons. Here's my first suggestion: "Gary Burton & Keith Jarrett" Atlantic. I think it would sound very "now" now. Edited February 6, 2004 by jazzbo Quote

jazzbo Posted February 18, 2004 Author Report Posted February 18, 2004 (edited) How about Ellington Indigos redone by Mariah Scheider? Edited February 18, 2004 by jazzbo Quote
Joe G Posted February 18, 2004 Report Posted February 18, 2004 Looks like Keith and Gary were doing the "brickwaller" thing long before it became the backdrop of choice for rock band promo shots. Quote
jazzbo Posted February 18, 2004 Author Report Posted February 18, 2004 You mean this is NOT A ROCK ALBUM? Hey, it's an OLD wall, because jazz is dead, see? Quote
mikeweil Posted February 18, 2004 Report Posted February 18, 2004 I'd like to see the unreleased Horace Silver Tentet session for Blue Note redone, if he still likes the arrangements. Don Sickler would love to do this. Quote
