JSngry Posted April 13, 2014 Report Posted April 13, 2014 Because, with comedy records, you never know... Quote
paul secor Posted April 13, 2014 Report Posted April 13, 2014 I saw them several years ago at a concert show with Dick Gregory and Professor Irwin Corey. They (and the other two gentlemen) were hilarious. A thought while looking at the record jacket you posted - for a while (early 60s), Verve did a lot with comedy records. Quote
JSngry Posted April 14, 2014 Author Report Posted April 14, 2014 Beginning in the late 50s, iirc, Berman & Sahl, and on into the md-60s really, yes, a lot of comedy records on Verve. Remember the inner sleeves where they had the partition that said "The Wit Of America Is On Verve"? What else strikes me is that I don't recall either of them being that young, especially Anne Meara, who looks like she could still pass for a teenager if she had to. Quote
Big Beat Steve Posted April 14, 2014 Report Posted April 14, 2014 (edited) Not familiar with that kind of records (and their contents) at all, but on that Atlantic cover, Stiller looks a lot like a reborn Ernie Kovacs to me. Edited April 14, 2014 by Big Beat Steve Quote

That was my first thought as well! I remember them on The Ed Sullivan show in the mid-'60s, and they seemed a little old to me even then. Quote
