When I was in high school in Barcelona, there was a kid who used to open a coke bottle with his teeth. He wasn't the brightest guy around, to point out the obvious.

Brad, I too had a friend when we were in our mid-20s who would open a beer bottle with his teeth. He was an officer in the Marines!

So the same intelligence problem as Brad's example. (Sorry; I'm ex-Navy; couldn't resist!)

Dana, are you old enough to remember when most of Canada's best selling beers were ales, rather than lagers?

I've read that it was the massive ad campaigns of American brands that got the Canadian people moving over to lagers.

My memory is that in the 70s Lagers and Pilsners were the biggest sellers but that Ales like Molson's Export and Labatts '50' were significant sellers. Molsons and Labatts both made Stouts as well, but they were not big sellers. In Saskatchewan, all of this would apply to bottle sales only, as we had 'pool' draft ( a unique Sask thing, I believe). I think ales may have outsold Lagers and Pilsners further east in Canadia.
