Big Beat Steve Posted October 30, 2015 Report Posted October 30, 2015 Interesting and welcome for this season (and the ghostly weather here today) ... But except for the title word I cannot quite see the "Ghost of a Chance" connection with the subject matter, contrary to including Wardell Gray and his mysterious death (though at first sight I had wondered about that selection too, until I read your explanation).Wouldn't some music from "theme albums" for the occasion have been fitting too? Such as Sadik Hakim's "Witches, Goblins etc." Quote
Ted O'Reilly Posted October 30, 2015 Report Posted October 30, 2015 No "Skeleton In The Closet" from Louis Armstrong? It's the highlight of the film Jeepers Creepers...pure Halloween! The Decca recording's good, but try to get the version lifted from the movie. Quote
ghost of miles Posted November 1, 2015 Author Report Posted November 1, 2015 Steve and Ted--have used a lot of that material before when I hosted our jazz-and-popular-song program Afterglow. May tap into it for a future Night Lights show that is more full-on novelty-oriented. (And Ted, I agree with you re movie-vs-Decca version) Quote
