By way of contrast, there was a live recording of Pletnev playing the piece on the radio the other day which I didn't particularly get into (with the proviso that I was driving, so not optimal listening conditions)...but this one is very special. Melnikov`s "less is more" approach (IMO) is a perfect way to tackle Prokofiev Sonatas, so  this one comes highly recommended ... Quote
