I have had recordings by Pacifica, Julliard and Arditti but still have a soft spot for the first two by the Composers Quartet, Disposed of Julliard and my "fall back" edition is the Arditti. The Paifica records are dandy too. The Ardittis were the first I heard and consequently perhaps, are still the recordings I listen to most I do enjoy the Pacifica Qt. very much though.  Speaking of Arditti Quatet, Now playing, Schoenberg SQ 3 & 4 Edited February 5, 2020 by Marzz Quote

Same here w/the Ardittis (and now am pretty much willing to pick up anything I find by them...when it's affordable to). Just picked up the Pacificas, looking forward to settling in with them soon. The Carter quartets are definitely things to go all in for the long haul with, imo. Quote
Д.Д. Posted February 6, 2020 Report Posted February 6, 2020 Ardittis are great. Saw the live a few times - phenomenal. The a series of recordings they did for AEON (Birtwistle, Ferneyhough. Dusapin, Gerhard, etc.) are outstanding. Quote
