Fantastic singers, and quite different from the previously available recording of this oratorio, as it omits the violin parts and thus the sinfonia that obviously were added after thecomposer's death and are not on the level of his craft. Stradella's imagination in scoring continuo parts is unsurpassed, in my opinion. Quote

Yes, it's an excellent performance of the Seventh. I would probably choose the Third as my favorite performance in Levine's set. The Fourth is very strong too. IMO, these three works are Levine's most convincing performances. Quote
