anyone ever heard of this tenor saxophonist? he played at the Ann Arbor Blues and Jazz Festival with Archie Shepp in 1972. the name may be very misspelled.

the only thing i found on the web with this name is in Len Kunstadt's account of the '72 ann arbor festival

https://archive.org/stream/RecordResearch119_20/RR119_20_djvu.txt

ARCHIE SHEPP ENSEMBLE: Shepp, reeds; Abdul Bey, tenor
sax; Charles Greenless, trombone; David Burrell, piano;
Jimmy Garrison, bass and Beave Harris, drums.

and i have a handwritten note: "abdul jalilu bey  _tat sx".  on this note, bey could be "bry".

not a nom-de-plume for Griot Galaxy saxophonist Faruq Z. Bey?

he was related to griot galaxy. Alfred “Slick” Campbell aka Jalil Bey.  also aka abdul jalil, aka Imam Abdul Jalil, aka Muhammud Bey Abdul Jalil. usually when some one has that many aka's, they're doing something illegal.
